The 2021 Kam Fan Awards' call-for-entries has commenced in August and will run until Oct 15, 2021. Following the first round of online judging, the international jury will gather in Hong Kong to award the finalists with Gold, Silver, Bronze and merit. The best work of the year will be crowned the Grand Kam Fan. The Hong Kong 4As has a longstanding mission to nurture young creatives, will stage the Students’ Award and the Young Kam Fan Awards alongside the Kam Fan Awards. Winners will be unveiled at the Kam Fan Presentation Gala, which not only gives a stage for agencies to shine, but also represents the annual get together where the industry’s finest can rub shoulders and generally catch up.

Hong Kong Roots

In 2019, a special category named “HK Roots本地薑” was added to celebrate work that demonstrates the uniqueness and excellence of Hong Kong creativity with strong relevancy to local insights, culture or behaviour. Work in this category is judged by a special HK Roots Jury composed of local cross-media and multidisciplinary creatives.

Mihnea Gheorghiu

Chief Creative Officer, Publicis Italy & Le Pub Amsterdam

Jury President

Mihnea got into advertising when he was 19 in Bucharest, Romania. In the years that followed, he worked in Hamburg, Paris, London, Madrid, Toronto, New York and Amsterdam. The work he created and creative directed over the years has won 50 Cannes Lions, amongst other hundreds awards (D&AD, Clio, One Show, ANDY, NYF, LIAA, Eurobest, Epica) and mean comments on some advertising blogs. Mihnea likes to think of new things to say or new ways to say the same things. He really enjoys that stuff. That, and raccoons. Mihnea thinks that raccoons are cool. Since 2017, he’s been in Publicis Milan, overseeing the global work for DIESEL and Heineken, first as Global CD, then as Global ECD and finally being appointed as Chief Creative Officer of Publicis Italy and Le Pub Amsterdam in 2021.

Alice Chou, who has been described as all of above. She has served on the Jury President for D&AD Branded Content & Entertainment and judged at Cannes Lions, Dubai Lynx, One Show, AME, Webby, Clio, Spikes Asia, ADFEST and LIA China.

Kok Keong

As the Regional ECD of Hakuhodo, Kok Keong is overseeing creative output and new business development for several offices in the region. He has wide working experience across South East Asia – started his career in Singapore in 1994, then moved back to Malaysia in 2002. His previous position was the ECD at Hakuhodo in Jakarta, before moved up to Regional ECD, the current position he is holding now. To date, he has taken home more than 230 international awards including 5 D&AD Pencils, 3 One Show Gold Pencils, numerous metals at Cannes Lion, Clio, LIA, Australia Award, Spikes Asia, Asia Pacific Adfest, New York Fest, Busan AdStar, and Effie Asia. Kok Keong has served on the jury panel for several shows including One Show 2020 & 2021, One Show Asia 2020, Spikes Asia 2014, Asia Pac AdFest 2015 & 2017, Longxi 2019, and Busan AdStar 2013 & 2018.

Maan Bautista

Maan is Group Creative Director at Wunderman Thompson Philippines and one of the country’s most awarded CDs. Her most recent wins include Gold at Cannes, Effies, AdFest, LIA and New York Festivals on top of multiple other awards from Clio, One Show, AdStars, Tangrams and Spikes. These wins and more have earned her the top spot in both Campaign Brief Asia’s and Adobo Magazine’s Creative Rankings. Despite all she’s achieved over her 16-year career, Maan is still having fun in advertising and has no plans on resting on her laurels.

Ray Wong

Ray Wong has over 30 years of media experience. He joined Omnicom Group in 1990, running the media planning function for DDB HK. He had been instrumental in the launches of OMD HK in 1998 and PHD HK in 2006. Under his leadership, PHD HK received over 300 accolades, including 16 ‘Media Agency of the Year’ titles. He is now Senior Consultant of Gusto Labs ( a new Brand-tech Company ).

Next to his academic pursuits, Chow is also an award-winning lyric writer, with some 1,000 lyrical works under his name for a diversity of pop artists. Lately, Chow has been increasingly involved in prose writing, multi-media and visual art projects.
